Verbatim Ultra-Slim Bluetooth Keyboard for tablets

Tablets have certainly come a long way since they were first introduced, and became truly mainstream with the introduction of the iPad from Apple, but while there are many pros to the presence of a tablet in your life, there is still one major con that tablet manufacturers, even the almighty Apple, have yet to solve. That is, the issue with not having a keyboard for you to type in all your thoughts compared to tapping on the screen and using a virtual keyboard, which tends to take plenty of time to get used to, and even so, it is not that accurate after all.

Verbatim, a name that used to be associated with floppy discs back in the 1980s and early 1990s, is also in the hardware and accessories business just in case you were wondering. The company has in fact rolled out its latest creation that will target those who own tablets – coming in the form of the Verbatim Ultra-Slim Bluetooth Keyboard. We will take a look and see what it offers right after the jump.

This sleek, portable keyboard will not only deliver mobility and ultimate functionality, it does so in style. I guess you cannot go wrong with the color choices, as we are talking about white and black shades, and it is perfect for not only the iPad but the iPhone, Samsung Galaxy Tab, Motorola Xoom and virtually any other device out there that you are sick and tired of using the included virtual keyboard to compose that email to your boss on a double tight schedule.

Not only that, when connected to your iDevice, you are also able to play, pause and control iTunes music straight from its media console, while the Enhanced Smart Keys deliver a simpler way to cut, copy, paste and undo. With its low profile, soft-touch keys, they are able to deliver a crisp, responsive feel even when you type, so that you can work late into the night without having to worry about waking anyone up as it is virtually silent. If you are interested in picking this puppy up, it will cost you $49.99 a pop.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablet hitting the market!

Rockchip lays claim to the first Android 4.0-powered tablet in the world, although I am not quite sure whether anyone else has beaten them to the punch or not. Known as the Android 4.0 PAD, this tablet will be powered by Rockchip’s RK2918 processor, running on Ice Cream Sandwich to boot. Apart from that, it seems as though the RK2918 processor has started to gain traction in the domestic tablet manufacturing industry, not to mention with several other overseas ODMs. This translates to us potentially viewing more and more brands that will have the Android 4.0 operating system running within, so it is only a matter of time before we see such puppies hit the market. Who else do you think will follow suit with a Rockchip processor inside?

Belkin’s Verve Folio Stand for the Kindle Fire

Two days ago, my Amazon Kindle Fire arrived in the mail. I had a pretty exciting time with the Kindle Fire, and I will give you a hands-on review of that if you leave enough comments demanding one.

Fortunately, I was prepared for the Kindle Fire with the Verve Folio Stand by Belkin. It definitely gives my Kindle Fire some protection, and since it is a leatherportfolio, it makes the newest e-book reader/tablet feel like an old book.

Of course, an old book can’t prop itself up so I can read like a display at many angles. An old book can’t show all thevideo that the Kindle Fire can show.

All right, this is beginning to sound like a review of the Amazon Kindle Fire, but this is about the Verve Folio Stand. I like that the Verve Folio Stand has an elastic strap that can keep it shut. This makes me feel better about carrying the Kindle Fire around in a bag, and protect it from scuff marks.

I recommend the Verve Folio Stand if you got yourself a Kindle Fire. By the way, I have noticed that the Kindle Fire is about the same size and shape as a BlackBerry Playbook. This means that if you are just needing protection for your Kindle Fire, BlackBerry Playbook protectors like that one I reviewed from Ballistic the other day, will work, as long as you don’t mind not being able to access the Kindle Fire’s headphone jack and other ports.

If you want more information about the Belkin Verve Folio Stand, feel free to head to the Belkin site here. I found a product with the same name on Best Buy for about $39.99, so I am going to assume that is the usual price for this item.
