Story Line :Somnath (Somu) Rajesh Khanna lives in a slum in Delhi with his widowed mom, and unmarried sister, Sarla. He is friendly with Calcutta-based wealthy Vikram (Viky) Amithabh . When Vicky’s dad, Damodar, has a heart attack, Vicky takes his fathers place and had problem with the union leader Bipinlal Pandey. Later Viky appolosies and to teach him a lesson he bring Somu gets a job as a laborer in his mill, befriends his fellow-workers, gets some monetary relief to injured workers, amongst other benefits, is elected as the union leader replacing Bipinlal. But Damodar finds out he creates events that may result in the death of one of the friends at the hands of the other. Will Vicky’s and Somu’s friendship survive ???is the rest of the movie.
