Story Line:
It’s a love story helmed by a debutant director and with a fresh lead pair. The hurdle to love here is not parental opposition or caste difference as is usual. But the resentment of the girl Arti against her lover Arvind, who failed to protect her from the brutal assault of a rowdy Thamba (OAK Sunder). Arvind has stood passively by, as she was being slapped around and manhandled. The initial tiffs between the duo, the falling in love, the acceptance by both families and their engagement, forms the earlier part. On the other track is Thamba, the local thug, who with his hirelings, was willing to do anything for money. On that crucial day, Thamba and his men were on a mission. To ambush and kill a politician’s rival. Arti was in the area waiting for Arvind to arrive. Not realizing the seriousness of the situation, nor the identity of the men, she had refused to budge from the place, and earned Thamba’s ire. Arvind who arrives there, makes no effort to rescue her. Having narrowly escaped death, Arti refuses to hear any explanation from him. It was a phobia he was suffering from, related to violence and fire, we are told.
