Story

Don Seenu (Raviteja) leaves his village in the Childhood to become a Don, He is a big fan of Amitabh Bachchan and watches his Film DON as many as 32 times and his only aim in his life is to become a Don. He comes to Hyderabad and knows about the gang war between Maachiraaj (Shayaji Shinde) and Narsing (Srihari) and joins in both the gangs without knowing to one another. What he does after that?? What’s his main motto behind that forms the rest?

Performances

Raviteja repeats the same action and body language without a fall in the energy levels. Shriya looked glamorous. Anjani Sukhani is good. Srihari and Shayaji Shinde tried to do regular job. Brahmanadam and Ali spilled some laughs. Music by Manisharma is a disappointment. Cinematography by Sameer reddy is good. Production values are rich. Direction is mediocre and good only in parts.

Analysis

R.R movie makers had earlier given a super hit film KICK with Raviteja. Gopichand Malineni has made his debut as a director with this. The Production values are rich by this production house but it is not so entertaining /gripping like KICK. The movie starts with the voice over of Jagapathi babu.

Raviteja is tagged as “MASS RAJA” in the titles. Raviteja has taken up the movie solely onto his shoulders right from word go- to- the finish. He has repeated the same mass/funny dialogues. His energy levels are high as usual. Shriya looked good and glamorous. She wore skimpy clothes (probably the first time) and tried to look hot. Anjani Sukhani is fresh, we have seen her after a long time (The last time we have watched her is in “NAA VOOPIRI” (Vadee Naveen, Sangeeta). Both the heroines are glamour dolls and have nothing much to do other than to shake a leg with the hero in the songs.

The Story is not a new one but the director tried to narrate it in a fresh manner. The interval twist is good. The second half looses grip. It is tough to bear the later half if there is no Brahmanadam in it. Ali is good in the first half. Venumadhav appears in an old beaten comedy track. Dialogues by Kona Venkat are okay (Even though there are many double entendres).Screenplay could have been better. The story has many twists and turns but the Director dragged the movie a lot before arriving to the climax. The Villains are shown as mere jokers. Mahesh Manjrekar was wasted. The movie needs at least a 15minute trimming to make it look slick. If only the director had shown a little more care in the story and screenplay the film could have been a total entertainer.

Cinematography by Sameer Reddy is good the locations are somewhat appreciative. Editing could have been better. Music by Mani Sharma is disappointing. The songs are absolute speed breakers. Only the title song reaches to some extent. Manisharma- Raviteja combination is not musically a hit combo (Remember DUBAI SEENU which is weak in terms of Music). The background score is mediocre. The New generation directors should come up with some thing new and out of the formula to attract the Audience.

Raviteja repeats the same mannerisms and dialogue accent. It has become monotony and Raviteja should seriously think of it and come up with some new characterizations and body language.

We have to wait and see how the Movie fares at B, C Centers.

Plus: Raviteja’s energy, Cinematography, Shriya’s glamour

Minus: Formula Movie, Music, Second half

Verdict: Fails to make a good impression, Formula Treatment makes the movie an Average fare
