Story Line:

When Bhrugu Maharshi comes to visit Lord Vishnu and Vishnu didn’t observe his visit. So Brugu Maharshi insulted Lord Vishnu in false ego of considering himself the greatest Brahmin, but apologised immediately of his mistake and Lord Vishnu forgave him. But Lakshmi(the wealth goddess), wife of Lord Vishnu could not tolerate the insult of her, comes to Bhulok and re-birth as Sita.

Sita was a foundling, discovered in a furrow in a ploughed field, and for that reason is regarded as a daughter of Bhudevi, the earth Goddess. She was found and adopted by Janaka king of Mithila and his wife Sunayana. She is brough-up and once the King wanted to search for a suitable husband for Sita by conduting Swayamvaram. Rest of story is how Lord Rama incarnation of Lord Vishnu takes birth and marries Sita.
