Plot
The main character Sethu (played by Vikram) is a rough and macho college president, who uses violence as the only way to deal with people. He lives with his brother, a Judge (played by Sivakumar), and his sister-in-law, who is the only person who seems to understand him properly.
Sethu has a staple diet of yes-sir friends surrounding him. He comes across a timid girl, Abitha, who is the daughter of a poor temple
When the girl falls in love with him, Sethu becomes a victim of brothel-goons and ends up in a mental institution with brain damage. The rest of the film dwells on whether Sethu and Abitha are united.

Middle-class young woman Divya (Revathi) accedes to familial pressure and marries Chandrakumar (Mohan), an affable, soft-spoken company manager from New Delhi. This is a love story of Kasi (Nagarjuna) and Keertana (Ramyakrishna). Keertana, an orphan and brought up by Vasudeva Murthy (J.V. Somayajulu), learns dance from Rama Sarma (Sakshi Rangarao) and Parameswara Sastry (Girish Karnad). Kasi, who is from a low caste, writes good poetry. He sees Keertana and gets inspired by her dance. Vasudeva Murthy's wife (Kakinada Syamala) does not like it and creates problems for Kasi and Keertana. How they get united is the rest of the story.

A married couple and their two children live together in South India. The family soon decide to have another child. At birth it appears the child suffers from a terminal disease. Dhaniya and Kundan are childhood sweethearts, and hope to marry once they have attained maturity. Dhaniya would like to have some money in her possession before she marries, so they decide to travel to Bombay, find some work, save some money, and then marry. Upon arrival in Bombay, they find that getting employment is not all that easy, especially when one is unskilled. Dhaniya feels that she is good at acting, and feels she will be successful as an actress. So both try their hand with various Bollywood agents, and after quite a few misadventures, Dhaniya gets an acting role. She surpasses all estimations, and becomes a star overnight. Kundan sees all the glitter and the glare from the outside, but is unable to become part of what Dhaniya, who now calls herself Sarita, has become. Sarita is so intent onsaving money , that she ends up spending more andmore money , quite unable to save any, and finally Kundan realizes that he has lost her to the artificial glamor world, leaves her, and heads back home. Will Dhaniya and Kundan be ever re-united again? Has success changed Dhaniya?

When the Indian Secret Service find out that Sarva Bushan Rao, in collusion with international underworld don, Q, are using live human specimens to conduct experiments, they assign Agent Nethra to this case. Nethra is on the verge of apprehending both arch-criminals, but gets killed in the process. Indian authorities then re-assign this case to Agent Pratima, who accepts it, and sets about to seek the duo. She comes across a man named Yaadgiri, who resembles Nethra, she meets him, asks him to act like Amitabh Bachchan did in 'Don', to which he agrees. He gets training and proper etiquette and is shown the profile of the two gangsters. His first job is to woo and seduce Swarnalekha and Hanslekha, Rao's daughters. He starts with Swarnalekha, but she turns out to be Hanslekha. Before Yaadgiri could correct this error, Rao finds out and has Hanslekha killed. Concept :This is a very strange film held steady by an amazing performance by Kamal Hassan. It has a weird storyline with corrupt politicians, idiotic criminals, young lovers mouthing declarations of love, scatterbrained humor, childish scatological remarks (meant for smirking teens) all coming together in a campy sort of way. This is definitely not the sort of film you want to first see if you are completely new to Indian films as you may doubt your own sanity towards the end of the picture.
However, fans of Kamal Hassan will take a perverse glee in how their superstar manages to rise above all the nonsense in giving a memorable performance.

One day he comes upon a magical ring in the Himmalayas, where he had gone to search for a cure for one of the children, who was accidentally injured. The ring belongs to a celestial being, Indraja (Sridevi), the daughter of Lord Indra. She comes back to Earth to retrieve it. During her earthly voyage, she becomes close with the orphans, is kidnapped by a sorcerer who wants to sacrifice her to become immortal, is rescued, and eventually finds true love, Raju.
