Story Line:

The story revolves around two brothers Vijay (Amitabh) and Ravi (Shashi Kapoor) who grow in a lower middle class family. Their father Anand Verma (Satyen Kappu) is a trade Union leader, who gets defeated & disgraced by the management of his firm. Unable to bear the humiliation he leaves his family & runs away from home. Then, Vijay & Ravi are raised by their mother (Nirupa Roy). She brings them to Mumbai and starts working. At the disgrase faced by his father, Vijay starts working as a boot-polisher & somehow manages to send Ravi to a school for studying. As they both enter adulthood, they take completely different paths. Vijay becomes a smuggler & Ravi joins the police force. Ravi is asked to track down a smuggler who turns out to be his own brother & the conflict appears between the two brothers…One of the classic Amitabh movies, worth watching again and again for great performance and memorable dialogues.
